David's Saturday Night Sit Back (DSNSB)
When I started this show, I had no clear direction — no perfect plan, no “ideal guest.”
So, I committed to recording 21 episodes and figured if something clicked, I’d keep going. Around episode 12, a guest flipped the script and started asking me the hard questions. I was terrified to publish it — but I’d be a hypocrite to ask for people’s truth if I wasn’t willing to give mine.
Then a 17-year-old approached me at the gym after hearing my story. He told me that at 16, he tried to take his own life. And somehow, hearing that episode gave him the hope to keep going.
This podcast is now a mission: to tell personal stories with an aim light the internal fire in young men and women across the globe who are walking through the dark night of their journey.

I Left Everything Behind to Start Over - Alex Hertlein
Alex Hertlein is a stand-up comic, former junior hockey player, and one of the most mysterious guests I’ve ever had on. With almost zero social media presence, Alex walked away from his life in Denver — hockey stick and all — to chase laughs in Austin. You might’ve seen him on Kill Tony (#728), but today he’s here to unpack everything from Catholic guilt to conspiracy theories, anger management to Zyn addiction, and the struggles of starting over when nobody knows your name.
🎧 Episode highlights:
- How he left hockey behind for comedy
- Growing up Catholic in Denver
- The temper behind the laughs
- Navigating death, dopamine, and discipline
- Shenanigans from youth group to Kill Tony
🎙 New episodes every Saturday. Subscribe & leave a 5-star rating if this one lit your internal fire.
